Our Flawless interns reflected on their time at Flawless. Read what they had to say!

Over the past two years, I have learned more about mental health than I had in my first 20 years on earth. The experience and wisdom I have gained from working with each of the interns on different TikToks, interviews, and workshops have been so valuable. Through the workshops, it is evident that the work we do really puts smiles on the faces of people throughout the community. The interviews are helpful because they not only give me new ideas and ways to practice self-care, but they also inform the audience of different holidays and mental health strategies among other things. The TikToks just allow me to truly explore my creative side while simultaneously spreading the flawless message to people of all ages and backgrounds. I truly enjoy exploring every element of mental health and hope to expand my knowledge on the subject. Flawless allows so much room to grow, so I am forever grateful that the learning never ends.

The past 3 years of working at Flawless have had major impacts on me both personally and professionally. When I started this internship during the summer before my senior year of high school, I knew I had an interest in psychology and applied to college with that in mind. Through my college coursework and the projects I have worked on at Flawless, I have been able to learn more about the community aspects of mental health. Meeting other mental health advocates and working towards this common goal makes me excited to see what I am able to do in the future. Flawless Foundation has given me so much knowledge on mental health advocacy through curating social media content, organizing client information, and working with various mental health professionals. I love my time at Flawless, and I cannot wait to continue developing through my work and as a flawless person!

It is inspiring to work alongside individuals that are committed to spreading positivity in our community. The Flawless mission resonates with me and I think it is valuable to encourage others to focus on their mental well-being as part of their overall health. I have been a part of the You Are Flawless workshops, which have been a rewarding experience. During these workshops, the Flawless team shares knowledge on how to practice self-care, the importance of positive affirmations, and forms meaningful connections with people who have mental health challenges of all ages. Additionally, I have garnered experience in social media marketing and attended impactful panel discussions. Overall, I appreciate the great lessons I have learned at Flawless!

Although I have only spent a small amount of time with the Flawless Foundation, it has been nothing short of amazing. I have found that a lot of the personal work I have done to improve both my physical and mental well-being falls in line with the messages and teachings highlighted by the Flawless. There is so much welcoming love and trust within this organization. Our founder Janine, aka “Mama J” has so much confidence in the people she works with and has such clear and outward love and support for all of us. My fellow Flawless interns are eager to answer any questions I have, and they have really helped me with my transition into becoming an intern here. We work so coherently with each other, and everyone is treated with such grace.
I really love all of the work I have done here thus far. There is such a strong push for better brain health everywhere it can be spread. I have had the opportunity to do incredible work with Project Lift with the boys program, the parents and the girls, at the Veterans Hospital, at Flagler Park in West Palm Beach. There is real, strong community work being done that pushes for positivity and presses for change. In my experiences thus far, I have seen the changes being made in real-time. The girls I work with at Project Lift have definitive, happier mood shifts when we do workshops. They take the things they learn from us and the materials we provide to make their personal lives better. Men and women at the Veterans Hospital and Flagler Park told us we made their day and took our postcards with great enthusiasm to continue spreading Flawless love. I have watched the upliftment of people who need it the most. I cannot wait to continue my time with the Flawless Foundation. Much love.

My time at Flawless over the past few years has been nothing short of incredible. From the inspiring advocacy work to the amazing team we have, each step has been filled with so much learning, growth, and a growing passion to contribute to the field of mental health advocacy. The Flawless Foundation has been the epitome of warmth, community, and positivity – both in the work being done and on a day-to-day basis as an intern. It’s this feeling of family that truly makes this space so special, especially as we continue to spread important messages around mental health. I have greatly cherished my time being an intern and cannot wait to see all the ways that Flawless continues to radiate positivity!

When I first joined the Flawless Foundation team, they embraced me with open arms and I had never felt so welcomed and loved in such a short amount of time. I have been introduced to the most incredible and inspiring people who have a passion for making a difference in the mental health community. The Flawless Foundation has provided me with countless opportunities and learning experiences to help advocate for mental health through social media and in-person interactions. The workshops we have conducted have proven to be impactful for the individuals at Project Lift, Believer’s Academy, and the Mental Health Association. I always look forward to going out into the community for workshops because it is an opportunity to spread love and happiness to people in need. I am so thankful for Janine who brought me into the Flawless family where everyone strives to spread joy, awareness, and advice about mental health. I’m excited to see the Flawless Foundation continue to grow and make a positive impact on mental health issues in the community!
