What does Flawless or Seeing the Perfection in every person mean to you?
As a clumsy little girl, I would make mistakes in dance class almost every time. I would practice in the mirror of my bedroom after class, but could never perfect my technique. After hundreds of falls, picking myself up but never forgiving myself, I tearily approached my teacher after class. She had been watching me practice, restarting the music when I would mess up and get frustrated. I explained to her that I couldn’t perform my dance because I knew I would mess it up on stage and I didn’t want to look stupid. After a moment, she told me that I was the only one who needed to know that I made a mistake. She explained that if I made a big deal out of my mistake, then others would know. But if I simply kept dancing, others would think it was part of my dance.
This gave me an extra boost of confidence, helping me perform my routine on stage the best I ever had. Most people think of their flaws as a much bigger issue than others perceive them. Perfection is nearly impossible to achieve. Accept your flaws and make your mistakes part of your dance.
