Kathy Francolini, the mother of our Founder Janine passed away peacefully on September 29th surrounded by her family. Many of us knew Kathy and even for those of us who hadn’t met her, she was a part of our flawless family. She was always at our events when she lived in New York City and we all felt like we knew her by Janine sharing publicly about her Mom’s lived experiences with Alzheimer’s.
Kathy was an educator, a lover of the arts and beauty, and an overall warm spirit who brought lasting joy into the world. Kathy’s impact was felt far and wide and she served as a beacon of hope for other families in similar circumstances. Whether it was her experiences living with Alzheimer’s, the challenging social isolation for older adults during COVID-19, or highlighting the healing importance of social connection, Kathy inspired us all.
The Kathy Francolini Memorial Fund reflects Kathy’s lifelong passions: the arts, reading, and education. This fund will focus on helping children with mental health challenges by providing them with books that promote social and emotional learning. In addition, the fund will support Flawless workshops for adolescents that include art as a vehicle for self expression.
